Donald Trump told Americans attending the GOP midterm convention on Thursday that they will “go to hell” if they do not vote for Republicans in November, bizarrely implying that his pro-war agenda is what Jesus wants. 

“You know what happens if you don’t vote?” he asked the crowd. “You go to hell. Go out and vote, go out and vote!”

Everyone knows Trump has never bothered to read the Bible, but this is a new low even for him. The Gospels could not be clearer in their denunciation of the precise kind of bloodshed that the president has needlessly caused in the Middle East; Jesus literally forbade his disciples from fighting the Roman soldiers in the Garden of Gethsemane. 

Trump also led the convention in a cult-like chant about how he is the “greatest president in the history of the United States” and insisted to Laura Ingraham that young American men are “proud” that he is fighting Benjamin Netanyahu’s war for him. This man is completely lost. Read more.
