Artificial Intelligence May Kill Us All by 2030, Developers Warn

It is easy to scoff at people who fear that artificial intelligence may end humanity. Politicians bought off by Big Tech do it all the time. But the threat is completely real. The experts know it.

An Anthropic researcher named Jacob Coxon publicly announced his resignation on Tuesday, writing on X that the company is making a “hubristic gamble” by racing to develop AI. Anthropic is one of the world’s leading artificial intelligence firms. It created Claude. 

Coxon plainly stated that “the people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade” while urging other researchers “to consider what the next few years will actually feel like.” A former colleague backed up Coxon’s warning, writing that people in the tech sector “really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans.” This story is so alarming that even Ted Cruz, who loves himself some special interests, is endorsing legislation to help keep AI under control.
