WATCH: FBI Agents Swarm Eric Swalwell at San Francisco Airport
Footage of FBI agents surrounding Eric Swalwell at the San Francisco airport went public on Monday, showing the officials confronting the disguised politician and escorting him into a “restricted area.”
The agents seized the former congressman’s phone and laptop, according to an inventory filed with the warrant. Although he did not wind up under arrest, Swalwell has good reason to suspect that his legal troubles are far from over. Police executed additional warrants at his Washington home the next day, seizing other potential evidence that could expose the disgraced lawmaker for abusing his government power. The feds appear to suspect him of using his elected office to silence women who accused him of sexual misconduct.
In case you need a refresher, one former staffer has alleged that Swalwell raped her when she was too intoxicated to consent. Another says he drugged and sexually assaulted her. Two more claim he sent them unsolicited images of his penis. Unsurprisingly, he denies any wrongdoing.
