Tim Walz Blames Somali Fraud Scheme He Oversaw on Trump
Tim Walz, whom Donald Trump labeled “seriously retarded” on Thanksgiving, has no interest in taking responsibility for his state’s Somali migrants stealing over $1 billion in taxpayer funds. Instead, he’s blaming the president.
"Do you take responsibility for failing to stop this fraud in your state?" Kristen Welker asked the Minnesota governor on Meet the Press on Sunday.
Rather than address the substance, his answer was all about the bad Orange Man.
"This president has cut a lot of inspector generals. He’s cut programs that could help us tackle this,” he said. “That’s Donald Trump: deflect, demonize, come up with no solutions. He’s not going to help fix anything on fraud."
Did you notice the irony? Walz, while deflecting blame, demonizing his political opponent over an issue in his state, and failing to present a solution other than raging about the president, accused Trump of deflecting, demonizing, and coming up with no solutions. It was a masterclass in empty political speak.
