Dolly Parton’s Cause of Death Revealed

Country music legend Dolly Parton died at age 80 on Tuesday. Her nephew, who also worked as her head of security, announced her death in this viral video.

Parton’s representatives confirmed shortly after the announcement that the “Jolene” singer died after a “brief battle with cancer.” They did not disclose the type of cancer or offer details about her illness. Parton checked into the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville on Friday as she dealt with kidney and autoimmune issues. Approximately 600,000 Americans die from cancer each year.

Tributes to Parton began pouring in shortly after the news went public, including from Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and the Clintons. The president also ordered all American flags to fly at half-staff for one week.
